HTML means hyper text markup language. HTML is the "hidden" code, it is text and symbolos that helps us communicate with other people on the World Wide Web (WWW). HTML controls the structures the web page by wrapping elements in tags this is known as markup. CSS CSS Stands for "Cascading Style Sheet". This controls the way the website looks for example the text styles, fonts, colours, backgrounds, sizes, images of a web page. URL

This means the sound file has a small file size it does this by chopping out the sounds we can't hear while retaining good quality. This has made this file standard very popular and can be used on lots of different machines and devices. Domain A domain is a name of a server or computer. Domain Name System (DNS) links names to computer IP addresses. A URL can be broken down to different parts for example: http://www.tumblr.co.uk/dashboard/example http:// - This is the protocol the language that we communicate in www.tumblr.co.uk - Here are our domains. In this example our top level domain is "uk" to the left of this is its sub domain, next we have "co" then we have "tumblr", then we have "www" where we know we have finished. /dashboard/example - Now we know the exact address of our server we can then look for our directory path in this example "/dashboard/example" Hyperlink A hyperlink is how we navigate the net. Clicking a hyperlink will load the page URL its is linked to. A HTML link looks like this <a href="http://google.com">Link to google</a> What you would see in your browser is Link to google Hyper links can be text like this example which is normally underlined or in a different colour Or could be a image that when clicked would navigate you to the linked URL. This is a screen shot that shows the CSS as it was before I edited it. You can see that the colour is set to #006666 which is grey.In this example bellow you can see after editing the CSS I changed the colour to green which has a hexadecimal number of #668855 |
